Steven Gott, an associate principal at Smyrna High School, was appointed as the new principal at Smyrna Middle School by the Smyrna Board of Education June 16. The appointment will start July 1.

Current Middle School Principal Patrik Williams has been appointed as the new assistant superintendent of the district, when Buddy Lloyd retires from that position in a few months.

Gott has served as associate principal at the high school for nearly four years.
