The Smyrna School District invites district students and adults to participate in an essay contest to promote a Smyrna School District core value: Responsibility. There are two categories of winners: adults (18 and over) and students (grades K-12).
Contestants are asked to write a maximum 500-word essay by February 11 on the following topic:
“Responsibility means being reliable and following through on commitments. This includes responsible for your actions as a family member, teacher, student and citizen. You can demonstrate your responsibility through service to others and self-control. Think about someone that you believe is a responsible person. Tell in detail why you chose this particular person, what specific qualities this person possesses, and give specific examples of how he/she demonstrates responsibility.”
