Clayton Fire Company "Explorers" program for ages 13-15

The Clayton Fire Company has started Fire Company Explorer Post #45, open to youth ages 13 to 15 who live in the Smyrna or Clayton Fire Company Fire District or in the Smyrna School District. Explorers will learn about the fire service and will be asked to assist with parades and fund raisers.

A Clayton man who was a teacher at Middletown High School was found not guilty on all counts Monday on charges of having a sexual relationship with a Middletown High School student who was 17 at the time. After the trial, Robert R. Schumacher, 39, said, “What’s next for me is working with the state and the [Appoquinimink School] District to hopefully return to teaching at Middletown."

Division of Public Health urges Delawareans to prepare for storm

This weekend, a "Nor’easter" is expected to bring high winds and moderate flooding to Delaware, and Delaware’s Division of Public Health (DPH) urges Delawareans to prepare accordingly. The storm will largely impact Kent and Sussex Counties, according to the National Weather Service.
