The writer of the articles should first walk in the shoes of emergency service personnel before telling them what is wrong with what they do.

Funeral services for Delaware City Firefighter Michelle L. Smith will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 5, at the Delaware City Fire Company Memorial Hall. The Firefighters Honors and Procession will immediately commence and continue to the internment at the Smyrna Odd Fellows Cemetery, 420 South DuPont Boulevard (Route 13) in Smyrna.

In an effort to help everyone ring in the New Year safely, the Delaware Office of Highway Safety is coordinating an intensive DUI enforcement effort on New Year's Eve.

Gridiron supremacy and a year’s worth of bragging rights will be on the line this weekend when local firefighters and police officers take the field at Smyrna High’s Charles V. Williams Stadium. On Saturday, December 13, volunteer firefighters from the Clayton Fire Company will lock horns with police officers from Smyrna and Clayton in a game of flag football. The game is sure to be entertaining for spectators, but it’s not just for fun. The event will also benefit Toys for Tots. The community is invited to come out and watch the game, cheer for the teams and at the same time support children in need.
 

The Delaware State Police are investigating the attack of a 36-year-old Clayton woman that occurred early Thursday morning at about 4:20 a.m., near Cheswold on North DuPont Highway (Route 13) just north of Hatchery Road.
