A Smyrna man is in jail after leading a Dover Police officer on a foot chase through a store at the Dover Mall.
The incident took place Aug. 14 when the officer checked on the registration of a car being driven around outside the mall, said police spokesman Lt. Alan Rachko. The officer stopped the car after a computer check showed it had been stolen from the Newark area.
Instead of surrendering, the driver jumped out and ran into the Macy’s store, throwing clothing and knocking over display racks in an attempt to slow the officer down, Rachko said.
The suspect was stopped with a Taser device as he ran from the store and was taken into custody, Rachko said.
The suspect was identified as Quinton Muldrow, 19, of the 100 block of Foxwood Drive, Smyrna. He was charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and violating probation. He is being held without bail on the probation violation charge.
