The Clayton Fire Company has started Fire Company Explorer Post #45 open to youth ages 13 to 15 who live in the Smyrna or Clayton Fire Company Fire District or in the Smyrna School District.

Explorers will be ask to assist with many fire company activities such as fund raising events, parades, or other department functions.

Participants will learn about the history of the Clayton Fire Company and the history of the fire service in general. They will also learn about all aspects of the fire service including EMS.

Explorers will be required to attend one meeting per month as well as other functions of the fire company.

For safety reasons, they won't be allowed to be part of any firefighting activities.

All explorers will be required to maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average in school and be willing to learn about the fire service.
