A Smyrna man has been charged with seven burglaries at the same farm south of Smyrna, and police are looking for other suspects in the case.
Delaware State Police investigated the burglaries at a farm in the 900 block of Twin Willows Road between May 8, 2009 and June 24 of this year.
The suspect or suspects forced entry into barns and stole televisions, computer equipment, chain saws, power tools, an air conditioner, gas, food and drinks. The total value of the items was about $4,500.
On Aug. 2, State Police were investigating a separate incident involving Michael B. McBride, 19, of Smyrna and obtained information linking him to numerous burglary complaints at the farm on Twin Willows Road.
On Aug. 11, State Police arrested McBride on the following charges: one count of second degree burglary, six counts of third degree burglary, three counts of possession of burglarly tools, seven counts of theft, four counts of criminal mischief, and second degree criminal trespass. He was released on $54,000 unsecured bond to await another court appearance.
State Police are continuing their investigation and believe others may have assisted McBride during these burglaries.
