Man killed while trying to repair car

A New Castle man died Feb. 24 at about 4 p.m., when his car fell on him while he was trying to make a repair, according to Delaware State Police.

Anthony G. Allen, 58, had jacked up a vehicle to make some repairs underneath. While he was under the car, the jack toppled over, and the car fell on top of him. The incident happened in the 4000 block of New Castle Avenue.

Troopers and emergency personnel were called for help.

Allen was pronounced dead at the scene.

No foul play is suspected in this case, police said.
