Power outages and shelter population numbers for Delaware after snowstorm

Some Feb. 8 morning stats:

Power outages as of 5:30 a.m. totaled 13,773.

  • Delmarva Power had 6,169, all in Sussex County
  • Delaware Electric Cooperative had 7,604 with 964 in Kent County and 6,640 in Sussex County.

Utility crews worked through the night to bring those numbers down.

Shelter populations were 64 in Milford Middle School, 31 in Sussex Central High School and 6 in Cape Henlopen High School.

The American Red Cross Shelter at Dover High School closed out Sunday afternoon. A few in need of shelter who remained there were transported to Milford Middle School.
