About Mia Hamm

Mia Hamm is widely hailed as the all-time greatest women's soccer player. Hamm led the U.S. Olympic team to gold medals in 1996 and 2004. In 1991, she was the youngest player on the U.S. World Cup team. Her team won soccer's biggest competition, the FIFA World cup, that year and again in 1999.

She is a National Soccer Hall of Fame inductee and is one of only two women on FIFA's ranking of 125 greatest players of all time.

Hamm founded the Mia Hamm Foundation, after she lost her brother, Garret, to complications related to aplastic anemia. The foundation raises funds and awareness for bone marrow disease research. Hamm also authored the best selling book, “Go for the Goal: A Champion's Guide to Winning in Soccer and Life.”
