Every year, hundreds of seniors strut through the halls of Smyrna High, filled with confidence and a certainty that they will graduate in June. But what is to become of these bright, optimistic faces? Well, the SHS Journalism class has some ideas.
Chelsea Botsch will go on to play softball for Coastal Carolina University, making waves in fastpitch and hip-replacement advancements. Soon after college, she will start her own franchise of sport equipment providers and make Forbes’ list of most powerful women.
Eric Morris will leave high school to attend Northeastern University where he will find a true passion for the law and revolutionize civil rights. He will marry happily and spread his compassion to the world by adopting children from all over the world.
Nicole Thompson will fulfill her plans to attend Tampa University where she will major in Broadcast Journalism and intern with ESPN. While broadcasting with the Jacksonville Jaguars she will meet the eyes of the team trainer from across the gym and instantly fall in love. They will marry and begin her training for the Golden Gloves, which she will go on to win.
Cassie Carl’s future holds for her an education at West Virginia University where she will discover just how much she loves animals and major in Veterinary Sciences. After graduation she will combine this passion for animals with her knowledge and past experiences from “Funland” to create an animal inspired amusement park called “Farmland.”
Alexis Cazin will depart from the U.S. in late June to return to his home of France where he will finish his schooling. After graduating he will realize through countless retellings of his American memories that this is in fact where he belongs. He will move back to the U.S. to take up residence in California and attend California State University at Berkley and go to the 2016 Olympics for the 110meter hurdles.
Maggie Short is destined to become a soccer star at the Division I school of her choosing. She will secure her education in Physical Therapy. After beginning her own practice she will make a huge discovery in kinesiology and the mechanics of the knee. She will become a nationally renowned sports medicine leader.
James Linden will go to Salisbury University for the first few years of college and then transfer to the University of Maryland to obtain a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He will attempt to apply for an engineering job for NASA but upon filling out his application incorrectly will be hired as an astronaut and chosen for the 2020 mission to Mars where he will confirm life on other planets.

Tyrenne Mills will attend Hampton University and graduate at the top of her class with high honors as a surgeon. She will manufacture a popular new line of stylish scrubs and shortly after win a Nobel Prize in medicine for being the first surgeon to conduct a multi-organ emergency transplant.
Khaleah Williams’ future will lead her to West Virginia University where, along with getting an education, she will continue her experimentation with art and begin her reputation as a modern art genius.
Robyn Mickle will go to college and major in Aeronautics. After working for several years with aerial attacks for the United States Air Force she will be the first woman to attempt to fly from the North Pole to the South Pole. Landing in the South Pole she will find that her true love is working with penguins, however the terrain will prove challenging. She will decide that living in the U.S. is a much better option for her and move to Wisconsin and build a penguin zoo.
Brandon English will go to Parsons New School of Design to continue pursuing art while working towards becoming an industrial designer, and eventually get his hair cut for an office job.
Jessey Wales, his mother’s favorite child, will become a mechanical engineer after his studies at Drexel University; design parts for motorcycles, and be one of those guys with a lot of tattoos in a motorcycle show.
Tim Moss will attend Bloomsburg, and finally quit his daily grind at Xbos Family Fun Center.
Bo Voss will become a chemical engineer, discovering new ways to create automotive fuels from more environmentally friendly sources, while still keeping his tennis serve strong.
Shabana Amiri will travel around the world over the course of her life, seeing all the wonders of the world.
Brandon Booth will discover he has a true talent for riding horses, and be a champion jockey during the Kentucky Derby of 2018.
Shaquille O’Neal will be in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the biggest collection of Nike shoes.
Henry Wilson will do Spanish voice-over work for a main character of a children’s cartoon on a Spanish-speaking television channel.
Jess Sloven will move to New York City in her mid 20s, and remember how much more fun it is to live in city than Smyrna.
Kelsey Pond will attend Drexel University in the fall, but later realize that she is too smart for any sort of engineering, and use her natural intelligence to create a time machine where she will travel through time to fix all of the world’s pre-existing problems.
Betnijah Laney will attend Rutgers University where she will become the star of the women’s basketball team. After her glorious college basketball career she will be recruited into the WNBA. She will then become a famous Nike Spokesperson, making millions of dollars, driving a Range Rover, and living in a mansion.
Patrick McKinney will join the military where he will work with explosives and firearms. While overseas he will impress a girl. He will surprise everyone by bringing her home and marrying her.
Jake Willoughby will finish his four years of college at Delaware State University. He will then move to Texas and settle down on a ranch, lassoing in a cowgirl and marrying her.
Casse Rhodes will attend the University of Delaware, and obtain a degree as a veterinarian. She will move to Montana and spend her free time wrangling wild horses.
Jen Hurlock will attend Del-Tech and upon completion she will go to culinary arts school. She will participate in the hit television show “ Americas Next Top Chef,” where she will win first place, and open her own five star restaurant in New York City.
Lindsay Whaley will graduate from the University of Central Florida with a degree in broadcast journalism. After becoming an ESPN Correspondent she will follow in the footsteps of her idol Erin Andrews, but will win Dancing with the Stars.
Mary Jo Koska will achieve her dream of becoming a pediatric nurse. Along with working at a hospital she will be very busy providing free medical care to her twin sister’s eight children.
Tyler Martin will graduate high school and work at the Smyrna Diner for two more years. After that he will join the army and become a military policeman; while in the military he will travel around the world. After life in the military he will move back to Smyrna where he will settle down and become a Delaware State Policeman.
Courtney Carter will graduate from the University of Delaware with a grade point average of a 4.0, although she will be late for the commencement ceremony. Courtney will settle down in Smyrna and have a very successful career.
Barry Meredith will attend Del-Tech for two years. He will become the local plumber in the area. In his free time we will compete in competitive dancing competitions.
Danielle Oscar will attend Wesley College and be scouted to become a ring girl for the MMA. After her immense success and publicity she will settle down in California and open the most successful diner in the country.
Molly Daley will graduate from Penn State and start her climb her to the top to become the most sought after lawyer in the world. Celebrities from all over the world will hire her to represent them. With all her extra cash she will open chains of tanning salons.
Nicholas Motyl will attend West Chester University and open businesses worldwide. After visiting other countries he will adopt two children and settle in Sweden.
Matt Shelar will stay Matt Shelar and keep doing Matt Shelar things.
Matt Fillman will graduate from Delaware State University and take his boat down to the coast of Florida and catch some of the tastiest fish the country has ever eaten. While he’s down there he’ll discover a rare species of fish and make millions off of them.
Ronnie Koska will graduate from Delaware State University and settle down in a suburban home. She will then have a set of quadruplets. Once she has raised them into their teenage years, she will adopt four more. TLC will call her for her to star in her own reality TV show, to be name Ronnie + 8 or The Ronnie Bunch.
Andrea Wisniewski will graduate college, and head off to Texas where she will be lassoed into a certain cowboy’s heart. She will then start her own motocross company and arena.
Corrie Short will head to Kentucky to attend Eastern Kentucky University. One day she’ll strike gold on her travels near Fort Knox. With her earnings she will fund research for scoliosis and discover advancements in the surgery that will benefit curved spines everywhere.
Terah Garnett will be recruited by Chelsea FC in the United Kingdom, and receive many honors from the team. After 20 years with the team he retires and becomes an international banker.
Jessica Dibble will study business in college and open her very own set of nightclubs in Las Vegas. She will give black lights and dancing a whole new meaning.
Aly Wallace will graduate from Coastal Carolina University and move back to Smyrna to become a high school teacher. She’ll soon learn she has no tolerance for children and she ends up marrying a successful doctor and will live out the rest of her days in the Hamptons.
Nichole Young tries out college for a while then gets recruited to play tennis professionally. Nichole goes on to win Wimbledon and becomes one of the Top Ten Women Athletes as named by Sports Illustrated.
Jade Fleetwood will complete a highly successful career as a Wilmington University cheerleader. Upon realizing that there is an opening as the Smyrna High School cheer coach she will replace Coach Reed even sporting the same chic pixie cut.
Shadoe Lange comes back to Smyrna after her college graduation. Despite her hatred toward her McDonald’s employment she will find there lays her true passion. Shadoe goes on to open her own chains of McDonald’s in the Smyrna/Dover area.
After an attempt at making a breakthrough in the world of Broadway Sean McGuire decides the pressure is too great. He goes back to his beloved Cab Calloway and begins training the next generation of theater hopefuls.
Crystal Ross will lead James Madison to a basketball championship feeling bittersweet after beating Betnijah and the Rutgers team. After graduating she is immediately picked up to coach at the junior college level.
Josh Joanis enters the military after graduating from high school. He’ll spend his career jumping out of helicopters and soon move up in rank. Josh will earn the Medal of Honor after saving numerous fallen soldiers.
Olivia Everett graduates from college and moves onto a large farm in the Smyrna area. She doesn’t need a doctorate degree to become a veterinarian; her pure skill makes her a household name among local livestock owners. As her clientele list grows so does her wealth.
Shay Cale moves to New York trying to make it as a singer. Her first album goes platinum and she realizes that is all the success she wants or needs. She then moves to suburb in New Jersey and becomes a vocal coach.
Tori Camponelli goes to college but decides to drop out and move out West. After being spotted as a struggling actress working as a waitress, she stars in Indie films. Eventually she becomes the only Smyrna student to win an Oscar.
Leonie de Blank has a very bright future ahead of her. She is going back home to the Netherlands to follow her dreams of becoming a police officer. When she comes back to visit the United States, she will run into her future husband Chris Hemsworth. Together they will have many beautiful children.
Nele Wolfram will continue on with many more years of education. Her intelligence will lead her into a future as a rocket scientist. As a result of her German background, she might even be the next Einstein.
Guta Sousa will go back to her beautiful home country of Brazil. Here she will participate in the annual carnival in Rio, but also grow up to have a big, loving, South American family.
Angelica Lopez has always wanted to work with children, as a nurse, or helping people in general. She is always there for her close friends, and her supporting and loving personality will also be shown through her future job. In the next couple of years she will be working toward this career at Wesley College.
Dean Armstrong wants to graduate high school, and spend the next years of his life serving his country by joining the coast guard. Here he can continue what he does best: working out his muscles.
Eric Scalia will be attending Delaware State University. After he graduates and gets a job good enough to provide for his family, he will marry his high school sweetheart Rachel Boole.
Kala Ford is attending Delaware State University next year. After she has completed her education, she will move onto helping people. Putting smiles on people’s faces, and bringing joy to people around her, like she currently does, is what she will be doing for the rest of her life.
Sarah Hammond will strive towards a good job, and a high education. After completing Mrs. Hewes’ business class at SHS, she will continue her path within the computer industry.
Megan Horn has always loved helping people, and her loving shows through a constant smile on her face. She will continue with this gesture through her career path. After many years of being hopelessly in love, she will end up as a future Mrs. Williams.
Alcelio Monsanto has been writing song lyrics for years already. One day, performing his work at a local Delaware club, a famous producer will discover him. For the next couple of years we will see him on MTV, talk shows, and in magazines.
Shelbie Bundy will choose the most valuable case while playing “Deal or No Deal,” and her persistence to do things her own way will win her $1,000,000.
Justin Coleman will go on to play football in college, win the Heisman Trophy, and be drafted to his favorite football team.
Steele Correll will become a successful artist, and will illustrate all of the future album covers for Insane Clown Posse.
David Donze will become a famous trumpeter, and play the National Anthem at all of the games in Citizen’s Bank Park for the baseball season of 2018.
Brian Shane will continue his musical career as the drummer of “Forever Isn’t Long Enough,” and play a show as the opening act for Avenged Sevenfold, upon which he will leave his own band and become the drummer for the more popular band.
Dustin Duhadaway will continue to scream vocals for the band he is currently in, eventually damaging his vocal chords to the point of not being able to scream anymore, at which point his band will begin playing acoustic pop songs.
Derek Healy will rise to fame by creating his band “My Bloody Valentine’s Teddy Bear’s Zombie Apocalypse,” and forever be recognized under the stage name DJ-DWreck.
Donald Johnson will be the first man to colonize Mars, claiming that the moon “isn’t challenging enough.”
Leopoldo Whitaker will become an author, and make the New York Times bestseller list with his novel The Hellfire Demon’s Spawn.
Mark Piecuski will create his own brand of pie shells, and call the company “Mark’s Pie Crusties.”
Kartik Patel will attend Temple University and then go on to the hit show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? where he will win the game show and then be blamed for cheating, after which he will prove his innocence.
Vince Stuhltrager will go to the U of D where he will eventually become Dr. Stuhltrager and be a true Renaissance man of the 21st century. Stuhltrager will then get his “old band” back together and they will tour under the name “Slack Babbath.”
Yaxier Torres will join the 6th season of the hit reality show The New Jersey Shore via the channel called Musical Television and then be kicked off because he isn’t really from New Jersey; but that’s okay because he’ll marry his fellow cast member who goes by the alias “Snooki.”
Jordan Dougherty’s band will open for Slack Babbath with his band Forever Is Never Going To Be Long Enough and then they will lose their drummer after he spontaneously combusts on stage while they’re covering an Avenged Sevenfold song.
Mark Wright will adopt five babies with his wife. He will then make his children form a band and they will have seven top ten billboard hits in one year. The band will fall apart after his youngest son realizes he’s not cut out for showbiz. But that’s okay because he’ll then start a band with his new wife, Tina.
Cody S. Barwick (CSB) will end up going to University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) where he will become a botanist and grow plants in his back yard.
David Letterman Jr. will follow in the footsteps of his father (David Letterman Sr.) and become a late night television host. Then after he reads this he’ll think this joke is extremely over used. But it’s not, David. It’s still funny. You have the name of a famous person… and it’s pretty cool. It gives you personality.
Sarah Shifflette plans on attending Delaware Technical in the fall to be a nurse. She will then realize that she’d rather play a nurse on season fourteen of Grey’s Anatomy and will stick with the acting profession. She will then win an Emmy for all of her stellar efforts.
Tyler Brereton will join the Marines and follow in the footsteps of some of the greats like John Rambo. Tyler will win the Congressional Medal of Honor and will then become a basketball player on the USA Men’s Olympic Basketball team. It’s his passion.
Terah Garnett will be a marathon runner and will train people for triathlons when his career is over. He’ll then meet his wife who will be fifteen years younger than he and have twelve little rascals. Needless to say, he’ll have his hands full.
Ericka Keen will learn that her last statistics exam in high school inspired her newly recognized baking skills as she becomes the first woman to broadcast a cooking show that compares foods for their taste and makes millions for introducing a new line of revolutionized cookware.
Corinne McKee, after becoming an elementary school teacher for six years, will realize that her true love is for marine animals and will move to Florida only to find a man who is just as enthusiastic about marine animals with a job at Sea World. The two will wed and find true happiness as they swim with and train the park’s most prestigious dolphins.
Morgan Wilson will find a calm beach that houses few people, become a teacher as she makes her way up administration and finally become the actual owner of her first elementary school which will allow students to learn through the nature around them rather than learn from sitting in a classroom.
Ashley Babenko will go on to own a horse farm that is also part track for racehorses. She will make millions and win medal after medal as an accomplished jockey and the first woman to be recognized for strong companionship with these amazing animals.
Derek Knight will find himself jumping from one college to the next to find the perfect baseball team to play for until he realizes that his true passion is to teach the game as he leads one of his students into the major leagues and becomes the first coach to receive enough respect from his students, that he gets half their pay.
Kayla McAlpine, once returned to her home state, will open her own restaurant that houses many different cuisines. Every room of her restaurant will be set up like a different country so that people from all over can venture to see this amazing feat. Her accomplishment will make her millions and help her business spread to the countries she featured.
Robert Graham will eventually open a car repair shop in town that has so much success that, not only does this business spread to different counties, but it also becomes one of the first and largest car repair/ car dealerships in the state. He will then go on to show his cars and make billions from winning awards.
Kelsey Knab will become an accomplished stunt woman that not only doubles for most celebrities in the movies, but will also learn to become a stunt driver and make movies of her own featuring her fearless skills.
Kim Santos will attend college to become a business woman, but from there she will begin to travel to different countries only never to return home due to her newest accomplishment of opening and growing her own winery in the open fields of Ireland where she will meet an Irishman who just happens to own many empty fields ready for harvesting.
Dominic Ascione, after retiring from 41 years of the Air Force, will realize that his true love is farther in the sky as he sets his goals to become the first man to live among the stars and planets with his new space turtle, Rick. From there, the two will discover an even farther universe in which they find a whole new life form.
Earnest Akah will pursue a degree in pharmaceutics at Widener University. Upon graduation he will land a job as head pharmacist at the local Rite Aid.
Ashley Green will attend Cecil County Community College and pursue a degree in business administration; then use her degree to successfully manage a chain of fast food restaurants.
Shaquana Watson will attend the nation’s premier school of dentistry. After college she will move on to open her own family practice and become a happily married mother of seven.
Ashley Ferris will pursue a degree in print journalism at UCLA and from there she will decide to move to Australia in an effort to shed light on the mistreatment of koala bears.
Storm Argoe will pursue a degree in special education at Del- Tech and then become a teacher at North Smyrna Elementary School.
David Hershberger will go pro with his wrestling career after leaving Franklin Marshall University from whence he will become the idol of young boys across the nation.
After graduating high school Denzel Jackson will move to his native land of Trinidad where he will become a used car salesman and own 12 billy goats.
Sean Pyle will enjoy a successful career on Broadway. After his final curtain call he will debut his new album and hope not to be featured on VH1’s One Hit Wonders.
Derrick Boyd will leave the NBA to pursue a career in meteorology and become the weatherman on the WBOC news station.
Christina Tilley will become the modern day Martha Stewart, publish a variety of cookbooks and appear on Better Homes and Gardens multiple times.
Kaliyah Bayard will pursue a degree in art education from the University of Wisconsin and return to Smyrna to teach elementary school art.
