George Alexander of Clayton, Delaware, passed away at home Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010. He was 72.

Mr. Alexander was born January 3, 1938 in Clayton the son of the late James F. and Mary Burris Alexander.

He worked as a farm hand for Medford Davis Farms for 25 years and for Asplundh Tree Expert Company for 25 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and David Wayne Alexander and a nephew, Michael Alford.

He is survived by a son, George L. Alexander of Port St. Lucie, Florida; two sisters, Bessie M. Pepper of Georgetown and Ruthann Alford of Townsend, and his nieces and nephews, Donald Alexander of Smyrna, Sandra Dilks of Newark, Norris Russum of Holly Hills, Florida, and Cheryl, Pamela and Glen Alford, all of Townsend.

Services will be Monday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m., in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be private.
