Arlene M. Lowman of Smyrna, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and friends on Tuesday January 19, 2010 following a five year courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was 68.
Mrs. Lowman was born May 23, 1941 in New York, New York the daughter of the late Michael J. Hart and Rita Smith McGlynn.
She worked most recently as a Greeter for Sam’s Club in Dover, Delaware and previously owned Little Folks Consignment Store in Smyrna.
Mrs. Lowman liked to travel, spending time at the beach and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Parker; and a brother, Michael J. Hart.
She is survived by her husband, David Lowman; a son, Lance Parker and his wife Casey of Smyrna; a sister, Denise Hamel and family; a brother, Patrick McGlynn; a niece and Goddaughter, Shea Marie McGlynn, all from Florida; and extended Lowman family.
Catholic services will be Friday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m., in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, where friends may call Thursday evening, Jan. 21, 2009 from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Starlight Fund, to benefit Ovarian cancer survivors and strivers, in care of The Delaware Community Foundation, #36 The Circle, Georgetown, Delaware 19947.
