Richard H. Shockley, 66, Holletts Corner Road, Clayton, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover, with his family by his side.
He was born on October 9, 1941 in Dover, DE to the late Chipman and Marie Maloney Shockley.
Mr. Shockley was a U S Army Veteran. He worked as a maintenance engineer at the exchange at Dover Air Force Base. He enjoyed fishing, working on boats, flying airplanes, hunting, trains, fixing everything, entertaining friends and family with his jokes and story telling.
He is survived by Wife, Patsy J. Shockley of Clayton, DE; Son, Richard Loren Shockley of FL; Daughter, Sherry Lynn Ridgeway of Hartly, DE; Son, David Wayne Putnam of MD; Daughter, Karen Lynn Putnam of MD; 5 Grandchildren, 2 Great-grandchildren; Sister, Elizabeth Osterhout of Chestertown, MD; Sister and her husband, Rella and Ralph Goodson of Kenton, DE; 1 Niece; 2 Nephews, and 3 great nieces.
Remembrance Services will be held Monday, August 18 at 11 a.m., at Trader Funeral Home in Dover. Burial will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
Friends may also call Monday, August 18 at 10 a.m. until time of the service at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover.
