    Doris B. “Dottie” Dorman, of Winding Creek Village in Millsboro, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009. 
    Doris graduated with an Associate Degree in Secretarial Technology from Delaware Technical and Community College.
    She worked as Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools in Smyrna for 24 1/2 years and had also worked as a Secretary for several law offices.
    She was a member of Bethesda U.M. Church and had served as Treasurer for a number of years.
    Doris loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She especially loved to have her family visit.
    She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ernie; a daughter, Sue Uhlendorff-Wright; mother and father, Clarence and Bessie (Isaacs) Betts; a brother, Elwood Betts, and a sister, Betty J. VanAuken.
    Doris is survived by a daughter, Nancy Nowak and husband Leon of Henderson, Nevada; grandsons, Victor and Zachery Nowak, also of Henderson, Jeff Springfield and partner Sherman Springfield of Millsboro; a great-grandson, Tyler Springfield of Millsboro; Gemma Serazzi and family, her foreign exchange student daughter in Chile.
    She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Joyce Betts; brothers, Bill Betts and wife Doris, Irvin Betts and wife Nancy, Kenneth Betts and wife Linda, all of Georgetown, and many nieces and nephews.
    A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 1 at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
