William C. “Bill” Campbell, 62, of Smyrna, Delaware passed away peacefully at his residence with his family by his side on Saturday, July 24, 2010.
Born on November 29, 1947 in Lewisburg, WV, he was the son of the late Lillian and Earl Campbell.
He served in the U.S. Army in Korea as a Sergeant in the 23rd Infantry.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandboys, JP and Jakob. He enjoyed working on old muscle cars, attending weekly cruise nights and swap meets with his brothers and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda “Kitty” Conover and a brother, Dennis Campbell.
He leaves many wonderful memories to his wife of 42 years, Wanda Campbell; his only daughter, Pam Patterson and her husband, Joe, of Townsend; his two grandsons, JP and Jake; three brothers, Wayne and his wife, Brenda, Larry and his wife, Danna, Gary and his wife, Bonnie; a sister, Linda Snyder; a brother-in-law, Ricky Hamby and his wife, Carolyn and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 27, at Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown, where family and friends may visit Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. Interment with military honors will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
