Michael Woodstock of Smyrna passed away on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 in his home with his wife by his side. He was 76.
Michael was born in London, England on Nov. 14, 1933. He served two years in the Royal British Army and was a guard at the coronation for the future Queen of England. He was discharged with high honors.
He was a semi-pro soccer player for Chelsea.
His occupation was a carpenter.
Michael was a devoted foster grandparent for the Kent County program for 15 years.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, and husband, and he will be deeply missed by his family.
Michael is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ethelynn of Smyrna; his son, David Woodstock of Dover; his daughter, Regina Woodstock and her fiancé Steve of Dover; three beautiful grandchildren, Steven, Emily, and Roxanne; his mother-in-law, Mildred Sapp, and three nephews, John, Jason, and Joe Brown.
The family wishes to thank our two very devoted friends, Mina Lofland and her son Earl, and our church family who have supported us through this time of sadness.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m., at Grace Point Church of God, 5254 Dupont Parkway, northbound Route 13, just north of the Smyrna Rest Area.
