George R. Wardell, 64, of Smyrna, DE passed away peacefully Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Kent General Hospital/Bayhealth in Dover.

Born on October 3, 1943 in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late George and Jean (Clark) Wardell.

For more than 40 years, Mr. Wardell worked as a pipefitter.

He enjoyed golfing and networking with friends around the world on his computer.

George was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #74.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Rosemary (Neal) Wardell and many special and dear friends.

A viewing will be held from 10-12 pm on Tuesday, August 5th at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown.  A gathering will be held immediately following the viewing at 17 Frenchman’s Branch Drive in Smyrna, DE.  Interment will be held privately at Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
