Donald P. Howard of Smyrna, Del., passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at his home. He was 77.
Mr. Howard was born August 15, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of the late Charles Howard and Caroline Fryer Howard.
He retired after many years of service as a Supervisor of Maintenance for Western Union in Philadelphia.
Mr. Howard served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Polycarp’s Roman Catholic Church in Smyrna.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Howard.
He is survived by his wife, Grace E. Howard, and a step-son, Kenneth MacKenzie of Ocala, Fla.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 31 at 10:30 a.m., in St. Polycarp’s Parish located at 135 Ransom Lane in Smyrna. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the St. Polycarp’s Church Building Fund, 135 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, DE 19977.
