Stephanie Ann Thomson Young, 48, of Smyrna passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008 after a courageous battle of cancer in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 16, 1959 in Dover.

Stephanie served her country proudly in the Delaware National Guard.

She was working at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital Dover as a nurse.

She enjoyed fishing, crabbing and spending time with family.

Stephanie was a member of the American Legion Post 14 and various nursing organizations.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Thomas Young; three sons, Justin T. Young, Daniel Young, and Ryan F. Young, all of Smyrna; her mother, Winifred Talemal and her husband Bob of Ocean View; her father, Floyd A. Thomson Jr. of Felton; two brothers, Charles F.E. Thomson of Dover and Jason H. Talemal of Felton; a sister, Amy Suzane Allen of Texas; her grandmother, Dorothy Floyd of Dover; several nieces, nephews, many great friends, and her special friends Mocha, Pocco, and Jade.

A gathering to celebrate and reflect on Stephanie's life was held Friday, July 25 at 7 p.m., in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.
