SMYRNA, Del. -

Arnold A. Apgar of Smyrna, Delaware passed away at home Monday, August 4, 2008.
He was 75.

Arnold was born February 21, 1933 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey the son of the late Herbert R. Apgar and Frances Hoagland Apgar.

He owned and operated Apgar Turf Farm in Smyrna with his son John for many years.

Arnold is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Florence;  a son, John H. Apgar and his wife, Donna of Smyrna; two daughters, Amy Apgar of Arlington, Virginia and Irene Joyce and her husband, Brian of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; two sisters, Glenda Burris and her husband, Ronny of Smyrna, and Abby Mannering and her husband, Bill of Blackbird, Delaware; a brother, Herbert R. Apgar, Jr.; a granddaughter, Meggan E. Apgar of Smyrna; and two grandsons, John Taylor Apgar of Smyrna and Francisco A. Murphy-Apgar of Arlington.     

Services will be Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, Delaware where friends may call Friday, August 8, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m.

A private burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna, Delaware following the funeral services.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Smyrna-Clayton Little League P.O. Box 114, Clayton, DE 19938.
