OBITUARY: Medford L. Potter, 98

Medford L. Potter, of Smyrna, passed away on Monday June 15, 2009 at Pinnacle Health Center, Smyrna. He was 98.

He was born in Little Creek, the son of the late William T. and Iva Reed Potter.

He was self-employed as a building contractor for most of his life. After retiring, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and most especially, spending time with his grandchildren and his family.

He was a past master of Harmony Masonic Lodge #13, Smyrna; a charter member of the Leipsic Fire Co.; a former member of the Smyrna-Clayton Rotary Club; and a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Smyrna.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Prunella Potter.

He is survived by three sons, Ronald Potter and his wife Juanita, of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; Dennis Potter and his wife Sandy; and Bruce Potter and his companion Gloria Daniels, all of Smyrna; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Services will be held at noon Saturday, June 20 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce Street, Smyrna, where friends may call at 11 a.m. Masonic Services will be held at 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
