Diane W. Shoun of Townsend passed away Thursday July 16, 2009 in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital. She was 68.
Mrs. Shoun was born March 29, 1941 in West Grove, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Francis and Helen Kirk Winterbottom.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed going to the slots with her sister, spending time with her grandchildren and doing crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Winterbottom and a sister, Jane Ellis.
Mrs. Shoun is survived by her husband, H. Keith Shoun; two sons, Blaine A. Shoun and his wife Diane, and John F. Shoun and his wife Kim, both of Townsend; a daughter, Kelly A. Kilbride and her husband George of Middletown; a sister, Ellen Frank of Oxford, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Shannon Kowalski and her fiancée John John, Trevor, Taylor, Brittany and Keith Robert Shoun; two step-grandchildren, Kelli and Michael Kilbride, and three great-grandchildren, Tyler McGuckin and Eddie and Bryce Stranahan.
Friends may call Wednesday, July 22 from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 West 10th Street, Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
