Like a lot of people, I had the impression the budget process for our state was a relatively simple and short process. Now that I am sitting, as Representative of the 28th District, I’ve learned far more about the process. It’s more complicated than meets the eye.

By the time this column goes to print, the General Assembly will be winding down its last days of the first half of the 144th Session on July 1. The final hours will be spent on the fiscal year’s budget.
