The Smyrna High School baseball team finished their season May 14 with a 5-1 win over Lake Forest. The Eagles ended the season with a 13-5 record.

The Smyrna High School boys lacrosse team lost to Tower Hill 9-4 on Tuesday in the Eagles' first-ever state tournament game. Smyrna was 10-5 on the season.

Despite a major rain delay, more than 80 students from 10 schools across the state were on hand Wednesday in the parking lot of the Dover International Speedway to test model cars they powered with attached solar cell arrays. The annual Junior Solar Sprint competition was designed to expose students to ideas about alternative energy technology. First place in the design competition was taken by Caravel Academy’s car No. 17; first place in the racing competition went to Beacon Middle School’s car No. 18.
