The Smyrna High School boys basketball team soared to a 30-13 halftime lead and cruised to a 53-40 victory over Salesianum Tuesday night in Smyrna.

Caleb Matthews led the Eagles, hitting five 3-pointers on his way to 23 points on the night.

Zubui Nwankwo scored 10. Dymere Richardson poured in eight. Anthony Watson netted five. Jaymeir Garnett scored four. Iyair Hinson-Purnell had two, and Zion Cole added one.

The Eagles improved to 8-2, while Salesianum fell to 5-4.
