Over the weekend, the DIAA State Track & Field State Championships were held, with Padua Academy coming away with the girls title and Howard taking the boys title.
Padua outpaced the field finishing with 132.5 total points, ahead of second-place Tatnall (103) and third-place Smyrna (87.5).
The Lady Eagles were led by three state title winners including Naomi Bowser who took the 800 meter title, Taimira Ramseur who won the 55 meter hurdles and Myrissa McFolling-Young who won the shot put title.
Caesar Rodney finished fifth with 49 points, led by Destiny Bailey-Perkins who won the long jump title and Yeila Correa who placed second in both the high and long jumps.
Middletown placed seventh overall powered by two state title wins in the 55 meter and 200 meter dashes won by standout Daija Lampkin.
Howard took the boys title finishing with 83 total points, just ahead of second-place Salesianum (78.5).
Dover placed fourth overall finishing with 50.5 total points, led by state titles in the 4x800 meter relay, a second-place finish for the 4x400 meter relay team and a state title won by Tayshaun Chisholm in the 55 meter hurdles.
Lake Forest placed 11th overall, finishing with two state titles, Isaiah Morris in the boys high jump and Cameron Lewis in the boys shot put.
