On paper, the game looked like it could be a close matchup. Charter started the day with a 6-1 record while the Eagles were 6-2, but Smyrna knocked the Force on its heels early.

Jessica Anderson pitched a four-hit shutout while Lexi Moore had three hits to help lead Smyrna to a 10-0 home win over Charter School of Wilmington Friday.

The Eagles erupted for six runs in the bottom of the first and then tacked on four more in the bottom of the fourth.

Along with Moore's three hits, Kayla Wilson, Laiken Zay, Sara Miller, Madison Drummond, and Kaelyn Press each had two hits for Smyrna.

Press and Miller drove in three runs apiece, while Wilson added two RBI for the Eagles.

NEXT GAME: Smyrna, now 7-2, is scheduled to play again Saturday, April 22 against Arthur L. Johnson School of New Jersey at Caravel Academy in Bear. Game time is 4 p.m.
