The Smyrna High School girls track & field team won the Henlopen Conference meet championship for the fifth straight year in competition at Polytech High School May 11 and 12.

The Smyrna High School girls track & field team won the Henlopen Conference meet championship for the fifth straight year May 11 and 12 at Polytech High School.

The Eagles also won the regular season conference title with a 12-0 record.

At the conference meet, Naomi Bowser won three events and ran a leg on one of Smyrna's first-place relay teams.

Winning two individual events each for the Eagles were Myrissa McFolling-Young and Taimira Ramseur.

The Eagles swept all four relay races.

Smyrna scored 224.5 team points to dominate the meet. Caesar Rodney was second with 138.5 and Dover placed third with 90.5 out of 11 teams that scored points in the event.

3,200 meters - 2nd, Raegan Sebastianelli, 12:56.20.

200 meters - 2nd, Shaneese La Mons, 26.50.

4x200 relay - 1st, Sanni Edward, Shaneese La Mons, Madison Keister and Arianna Vass, 1:45.34.

1,600 meters - 1st, Naomi Bowser, 5:15.00.

4x100 relay - 1st, Arianna Vass, Shaneese La Mons, Sanni Edwards and Sanaa Jones, 50:42.

400 meters - 1st, Madison Keister, 58.74.

300 hurdles - 1st, Taimira Ramseur, 49.00; 2nd, Brittany Smith, 49.97.

800 meters - 1st, Naomi Bowser, 2:18.09.

4x400 relay - 1st, Madison Keister, Sanni Edwards, Destinee Ekanem and Melena Credle, 4:11.64.

High jump - 2nd, Brittany Smith, 5-feet-0-inches; 3rd, Taimira Ramseur, 4-feet-10-inches.

Pole vault - 1st, Naomi Bowser, 10-feet-6-inches.

Long jump - 3rd, Arianna Vass, 16-feet-11-inches.

Discus - 1st, Myrissa McFolling-Young, 142-feet-8-inches.

Shot put - 1st, Myrissa McFolling-Young, 42-feet-5-inches.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS MAY 19 & 20

The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association track & field championships are scheduled for Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20 at Dover High School.

Smyrna will be among the favorites to win the girls title.
