The Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) is organizing the third annual Corntober BrewFest State Cornhole Championship on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Town of Whitehall, 900 Lorewood Grove Road, north of Middletown. The rain date will be Sunday, Oct. 1.

Co-sponsored by the Wilmington Cornhole Association and The Town of Whitehall, the event is home to the state's only cornhole championship tournament sanctioned by then-governor Jack Markell as a State of Delaware Division Championship Tournament.

"The Town of Whitehall is honored to be this year's event location host. There are a few things that represent community like cornhole,” said Brian DiSabatino from The Town of Whitehall.

This year, Corntober Brewfest features music by Ridin' Shotgun, great food by 301 Plaza, Half Baked Patisserie, Candy Connections, Kona Ice, and a selection of fall brews and activities.

Registration for cornhole teams is $40 in advance, $50 at the door, for the double-elimination tournament.

General admission is $5 with children 12 and under admitted free. A portion of the proceeds benefit the MACC Foundation with scholarships to graduating students and also supports businesses through the Middletown Business Incubator & Collaborative Workspace.

Event information is available on the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce website, www.maccde.com, or for more information call (302) 378-7545.
