Smyrna's Robert Eskridge won the boys race, while Naomi Bowser won the girls race for the Eagles in a cross country tri-meet against Caesar Rodney and Milford Wednesday at Blackbird State Forest north of Smyrna.

Eskridge crossed the line in 17:17 to win the boys race. Also placing in the top 15 for Smyrna was Aaron Lewis in 14th place in 19:07.

In the team standings, the CR boys defeated Smyrna 20-43 and topped Milford 15-50, while Milford beat Smyrna 23-35.

In the girls race, Bowser finished first in 19:34. Also placing in the top 15 for the Eagles were Destinee Ekanem in third in 22:11, Raegan Sebastianelli in fourth in 22:12, Abby Mace in fifth in 22:13, Sarah Larose in eighth in 23:31, Cathryn Shahan in ninth in 22:33, Audrey Price in 12th in 24:04 and Zoe Wilcox in 14th in 24:59.

In the team standings, Smyrna defeated Caesar Rodney 17-42 and Milford 19-48, while CR topped Milford 20-42.

NEXT MEETS: The boys team is scheduled to race at the Middletown Invitational at St. Andrew's School on Friday, Sept. 22 at 4 p.m.

The girls and the boys are scheduled to run a tri-meet with Lake Forest and Sussex Academy at Lake Forest on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m.
