The Smyrna High soccer team improves to 4-2 this season with the dramatic win on a goal by Fitzgerald Freeman

Fitzgerald Freeman scored the winning goal in the 97th minute of double overtime as the Smyrna High soccer team defeated Sussex Academy 2-1 Tuesday in Smyrna.

Sussex Academy led 1-0 at halftime, but Smyrna tied the game at the 69:26 mark of the second half on a goal by Orzoco, assisted by Freeman.

That set the stage for Freeman's dramatic goal in double overtime.

The Eagles outshot Sussex Academy 11-9, but Sussex Academy held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Abdul Musa saved 6 shots for Smyrna which improved to 4-2 this season.
