The Eagles improved to 6-3-1 with their fifth shutout this season Tuesday. They'll be back in action Thursday, Oct. 19 at home vs. Dover at 4 p.m.

The Smyrna High School field hockey team shutout Woodbridge 2-0 on the road Tuesday to improve to 6-3-1.

Julie Snow started the scoring for Smyrna at the 9:20 mark in the first half, and the Eagles held onto the 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Jessica Bergold struck for Smyrna with a goal at the 21:32 mark.

Katelynn Porter made three saves for Smyrna in her fifth shutout of the season.

Woodbridge held a 7-4 edge in shots and a 5-4 advantage in penalty corners.
