Friday night, Smyrna looks to win their fifth straight game and improve to 4-0 against the Henlopen Conference when they travel to take on the Dover Senators (1-5, 0-2).

Smyrna @ Dover 7 p.m.

After an inauspicious start, losing their first two games of the season, the two-time defending state champion Smyrna Eagles have rounded into form. Winners of four straight, the Eagles look to move to 3-0 against the Henlopen Conference Friday night at Dover. Fresh off a 46-13 win over the previously undefeated Sussex Central Golden Knights, Smyrna matches up against a struggling Dover squad. The Senators sit at 1-5 overall and 0-3 against the Henlopen Conference. They’ve dropped each of their last three games, including a 36-21 loss to Sussex Tech last week.

There are several big Henlopen matchups this weekend, here's a preview of a few:

Sussex Central v. Polytech

At the beginning of the season, few had this week’s matchup between Sussex Central and Polytech circled on their calendars. However, both teams enter the game at 5-1 overall, with Central holding a 2-1 mark against the conference, while Polytech is still undefeated at 2-0 against the Henlopen. The Golden Knights are coming off their first loss of the season, falling to Smyrna, 46-13, after winning their first five games. They’ll look to bounce against Polytech who have won five straight games after dropping their opener to A.I. duPont. The Panthers are coming off a 21-7 homecoming win over Laurel last week.

Milford v. Cape Henlopen

Since dropping two of their first three games this season, the Milford Buccaneers have won three straight heading into Friday night’s home contest against Cape Henlopen. Last week, the Bucs upset Woodbridge, 20-6 in front of a raucous homecoming crowd. They sit at 4-2 overall and 4-1 against the Henlopen Conference. Cape Henlopen has struggled this season, sitting at 2-4 overall and 0-3 against the conference after suffering their third straight defeat last week, 27-6 against Caesar Rodney.

Sussex Tech v. Caesar Rodney

After a slow start, dropping their first two games of the season, the Sussex Tech Ravens have won three of their last four games, including a 36-21 win over Dover last week. They’ll look to improve their conference record to 2-2 when they host Caesar Rodney for their homecoming game Friday night. The Riders snapped a losing streak with a 27-6 win over Cape Henlopen last week. CR sits at 3-3 overall and 1-2 against the conference.
