The Smyrna High School unified team, which includes players with and without disabilities, defeated Dover in the state semifinals Wednesday

The Smyrna High School unified flag football team defeated Dover 35-30 Wednesday in the state tournament semifinals to advance to the state title game.

The unified flag football team state championship will be played at the University of Delaware in Newark on either Saturday, Dec. 2 or Sunday, Dec. 3, after the Division I football state championship game. The date depends on if the University of Delaware football team makes the playoffs and if the Blue Hens have a home playoff game on Dec. 2.

The Eagles' flag football team finished the regular season 4-0 with wins over Woodbridge, Seaford, Middletown and Caesar Rodney.

Smyrna received a bye in the first round of the state tournament, then defeated Woodbridge 48-39 in the quarterfinals, before Wednesday's victory in the semifinals.

In the championship game, the Eagles will face Newark Charter which defeated McKean 51-40 in the other semifinal game.
