Smyrna and Cape Henlopen, tied with one loss apiece in the Henlopen Conference Northern Division, will battle for the division title Thursday, Feb. 22 in Milford.

The Smyrna High School boys basketball team will play Cape Henlopen for the Northern Division title Thursday, Feb. 22 at Milford High School at 7 p.m.

Smyrna's only loss in the division was to Cape Henlopen, 74-51, on Jan. 12.

Cape's only division loss was to Smyrna, 64-55, on Dec. 1.

Now the teams will face each other in a one-game playoff to determine the winner of the Northern Division.

Tickets for the game have been distributed to Smyrna and Cape Henlopen high schools (400 each) to sell in advance, with only 200 tickets available at the door.


The Smyrna-Cape winner will advance to play Friday, Feb. 23 in the Henlopen Conference title game against the Southern Division champ, either Woodbridge or Lake Forest.

The game will be played at Dover High School, with the girls conference title game at 6 p.m., followed by the boys game.

The girls game features Northern Division champ Sussex Tech vs. Southern Division champ Woodbridge.
