Five Eagles on All-State softball teams

Smyrna High School softball pitcher Jessica Anderson was selected as the Delaware Softball Player of the Year as part of the All-State teams announced last week.

Anderson helped lead Smyrna to the state championship during a season which included seven shutouts by the Eagles and six games when the Eagles allowed just one run during a 21-1 campaign.

Five Smyrna players were honored on the All-State teams:

First Team All-State – Jessica Anderson, pitcher, and Kaelyn Press, outfield;

Second Team All-State – Kayla Wilson, second base;

Third Team All-State – Madison Drummond, catcher, and Alexis Moore, shortstop.
