The Eagles opened the season with a 2-1 overtime win Friday on the road.

The Smyrna High School boys soccer team started the season with a dramatic 2-1 win at Concord Friday.

The Eagles jumped in front on a goal by Lestath Savage Soley at the 32-minute mark in the first half.

Concord tied the game at 1-1 with a goal at the 49-minute mark of the second half.

The teams held each other scoreless for the rest of regulation, and the game went into overtime.

With four minutes left in the second overtime, Smyrna's Albert Toe scored the game winner.

Nick Taylor made 11 saves in goal for Smyrna.

The Eagles outshot Concord 12-9, while the Raiders held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
