The Eagles evened their season record at 1-1 with a shutout victory over Caesar Rodney Tuesday.

Madison Simpson and Alexis Moore each scored two goals to lead the Smyrna High School field hockey team to a 5-0 home win over Caesar Rodney Tuesday.

Madison Steele struck first for the Eagles, scoring on an assist from Moore at the 20:29 mark of the first half.

Then Simpson scored on an assist from Emily Thompson at the 19:24 mark, and the Eagles took the 2-0 lead into halftime.

Simpson scored again at the 25:21 mark of the second half on an assist from Madeline Wilber.

Then Moore scored two in a row, the first unassisted with 4:52 left in the game, and the second on an assist from Jessica Bergold with 56 seconds left.

Caesar Rodney held a 10-5 edge in penalty corners.

Goalkeeper Katelynn Porter made four saves for the Eagles, and Leila Sebastian made a defensive save.
