On Saturday afternoon, the Smyrna Eagles used an impressive second half and four scores from standout sophomore back Will Knight to defeat William Penn 30-14 on Saturday to advance to the state title game.William Penn opened the scoring Saturday off a Kamau Floyd 13-yard touchdown run, putting the Colonials up 6-0 after a failed two-point conversion attempt.

The Smyrna Eagles have already accomplished a lot on the football field this season. They won the Henlopen North title finishing with a 9-1 regular season record, tied for the best mark in the state with Salesianum and Middletown.
