With the school year rapidly approaching, fall sports practices have also shifted into high gear at Smyrna High.
The varsity field hockey squad is no exception.
The team has been sweating through conditioning, drills and practices as it prepares for the upcoming season.
“We’ve got some really hard-working young ladies out here this year,” said head coach Fran Strosser. “They’ve been doing everything we’ve asked them to do.”
Assisting Strosser with the coaching duties are Jennifer and Matthew Lindell.
The Eagles will be relatively young this year after losing 10 seniors from last year’s squad, which finished the season with a 7-6-2 record.
The three seniors on this year’s roster are Cassie Carl, Courtney Carter and Sarah Davis.
The Eagles are set to open the season at home on Sept. 14 against Milford.
