Smyrna High’s junior varsity wrestling team won the team title and produced seven champions at the third annual Smyrna Junior Varsity Wrestling Tournament on Jan. 9.

In the team points standings, the J.V. Eagles finished in first place out of 14 teams, ahead of second place Caesar Rodney and third place Salesianum.

The following Smyrna wrestlers took first place at the tournament: Dane Teel (125), David Letterman (135), Zach Boyles (140), Tyler Foster (145), Matt Shelar (152), Dean Armstrong (171) and Ryan Meekins (HWT).

Other Smyrna place winners were: Jake Roberts (135), second place; Chris Berg (135) and Tyler Cox (160), third place; and Robby McKeldin (119), fourth place.
