24th Annual Youth Fishing Tournament set for June 12
WHAT: The 24th Annual Youth Fishing Tournament, free and open to the public.
WHO: Youth anglers ages 4 to 15 from all over the state. Sponsored by the Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife.
WHEN: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 12
WHERE: Ingrams Pond in Millsboro, Wyoming Pond in Town Park, Wyoming, and at the dog training area at Lums Pond State Park in Bear
WHY: This tournament is part of National Fishing Week, June 5-13, and was established to introduce youth to the sport of fishing and to teach the catch and release approach to conservation.
The event offers the opportunity for stories and photos featuring the kids fishing, and prizes will be awarded in three age groups: 4 to 7, 8 to 11 and 12 to 15.
