Smyrna Middle School fall sports tryouts will be held in late August. Here are the dates for each sport:
• Field Hockey – Tryouts begin on Wednesday, Aug. 25 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
• Football – Tryouts begin on Wednesday, Aug. 25 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Visit the SMS Athletics website to register as soon as possible:
http://sms.smyrna.k12.de.us/users/dwagner/index.html. All paperwork can be turned in to coaches on one of the following dates:
Wednesday, Aug. 18 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. or Tuesday, Aug. 24 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., at Smyrna Middle School.
• Cheerleading – Tryouts begin on Wednesday, Aug. 25 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
• Boys’ Soccer – Tryouts begin on Friday, Aug. 27 from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
• Cross Country – Physicals can be turned in to coaches at Smyrna Middle School on one of the following dates: Tuesday, Aug. 24 from 5:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. or Thursday, Aug. 26 from 5:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. Practices begin on Tuesday, Aug. 31 right after school.
All student-athletes must have an up-to-date physical turned in to SMS before they can try out. Coaches will accept physicals the first day of tryouts but we recommend turning physicals in as soon as possible in case corrections are needed. Physicals must be dated April 1, 2010 or later and on the proper DIAA form which can be found on our website or picked up from SMS.
