After the first quarter ended in a 12-12 tie, the Smyrna High School boys' basketball players scorched the nets with 28 points in the second on their way to a 76-59 home victory against Cape Henlopen Tuesday, Feb. 2.
With the hot second quarter, the Eagles took at 40-27 lead into the locker room, then extended the cushion to 58-41 after three periods. The teams traded baskets in the fourth quarter as Smyrna cruised to the win.
Andre Gibbs poured in 30 points to lead the Eagles' charge.
Storck hit for 14 points. Chris Oscar netted 11. Derrick Boyd scored 9, Bradley Forrest-Jones 6, and Amir Goher 4 for Smyrna.
The Eagles are now 10-5 on the season.
