The Smyrna High School girls' basketball team won on the road at Sussex Central, 52-39, on Feb. 20 to extend its winning streak to 12 games.

The Eagles jumped out to a 15-2 lead in the first quarter and led 23-12 at halftime. Smyrna extended the lead to 39-23 after three quarters and cruised to the win.

Betnijah Laney led the Eagles with 17 points, and Jackie Jenkins poured in 15. Crystal Ross scored 10. Alexis Fearrington had 5. Jasmine Hilliard netted 3, and Quontay Hicks added  2.

The Eagles' record is now 17-2.
