With an unprecedented numbers of Delawareans seeking food assistance, the Delaware Friends of Folk Board of Directors has renewed its support of the Food Bank of Delaware.
Friends of Folk will collect nonperishable food items at all events, including the monthly Coffeehouse Concerts, which take place at the Wesley College Chapel on the third Saturday of most months, and at the annual Delmarva Folk Festival, which takes place the first weekend in October.
The Food Bank of Delaware needs a wide variety of foods, including hot and cold cereals, instant or shelf-stable milk, fruit juice, canned meats and fish, peanut butter and jelly, pork & beans, refried beans, beans and rice, canned soups and stew, mixed vegetables, corn, carrots, peas, pasta, applesauce and canned fruits, baking mixes and spaghetti sauce.
Every member of a Delaware Friends of Folk audience who brings a food donation to a coffeehouse concert will be entered in a raffle for free admission to a future coffeehouse concert.
