The woman who was injured in a car crash east of Hartly Sept. 29 has died. State Police have now released her name: Kimberly A. Hutchinson, 44, of Hartly.

A Hartly woman has died after crashing her car on Hartly Road (Rt. 44) east of Judith Road Wednesday, Sept. 29.

State Police said the accident happened at 7:53 p.m.

Kimberly A. Hutchinson, 44, was driving a Dodge Stratus west on Hartly Road, east of Hartly, when the car went off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch.

Hutchinson was ejected from the car and was seriously injured, police said. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

She was taken to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Hutchinson’s dog was also in the car. The dog was taken by the SPCA and treated for a broken leg.

Both lanes of Hartly Road are were closed for more than an hour while the crash was investigated.

The preliminary investigation suggests alcohol was a factor in the crash, police said.
