The St. Patrick’s Parade in Smyrna was held Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m., sponsored by the Smyrna-Clayton July 4th Foundation.
Line up started at St. Polycarp Church on Ransom Lane near South Street and Smyrna Elementary.
The parade traveled from South Street to High Street, then to Commerce and Main street, across Glenwood Avenue, and ended at North Smyrna Elementary.
The awards ceremony was held at Eats & Sweets on the corner of Commerce and Main streets. Plaques were provided by the Smyrna-Clayton July 4th Foundation.
The award winners were:
Best float – Celtic Pub,
Best youth group – Cub Pack 239,
Best vehicle or car club – Delaware State News Newshound,
Best animal group – Rhinestone Cowgirl,
Best group or organization – Do Cairdre School of Irish Dance,
Lucky Leprechaun Award for Best Overall – Celtic Pub.
