The Asbury Church Farmers Market is now open Saturdays on West Glenwood Avenue in Smyrna, next to Glenwood Cemetery, across the street from American Legion Post 14.
The market is scheduled to be open from 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday through Oct. 13, according to market co-chairs Charles McGowan and Jamie Timson.
Along with fruits and vegetables, items on sale will include eggs, meats, cut flowers, baked goods, arts and crafts.
“We wanted to do this to provide local farmers and growers a place to showcase their crops while providing nutritious, locally-grown foods,” said McGowan. “We’re also helping to support local artisans.”
Proceeds from vendor fees will benefit the church.
Timson said she’s looking forward to giving back to the farming community.
“Agriculture has been a part of my life since I was a little girl,” she said.
