The death of the man found in a church parking lot near Smyrna Sunday has been ruled as due to natural causes.
The cause of death of Keith W. Black, 58, was determined after an autopsy by the Delaware Division of Forensic Science, according to Kimberly H. Chandler, deputy principal assistant with the Delaware Department of Safety and Homeland Security.
No other details about the death were released by Chandler other than it was due to natural causes.
The Delaware State Police detectives are investigating the death of a man who was found in a church parking lot west of Smyrna on Sunday.
The body of Keith W. Black, 58, was discovered by a person passing by the parking lot of Faith Baptist Church, 1575 Byron Zion Road, near Del. Route 300 west of Smyrna, at about 3:25 p.m.
When first responders arrived, Black was unresponsive with no signs of trauma and was pronounced dead, police said.
The Delaware Division of Forensic Science was contacted, and forensic personnel took the body to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
Detectives are continuing their investigation, but no foul play or suspicious circumstances are suspected, police said.
